Quick Pole is in the process of fully implementing the Nonlinear Structural Analysis method for wooden pole structures. The first part of this has been implemented and rolled out today that deals with Stability or Buckling Analysis. The reports have been updated as well to include the results of this analysis and the previous method's results which were based on the Euler Buckling formulas. Specifically, this nonlinear analysis includes the geometric nonlinearities of the entire structure. In contrast, the Euler method required tests at specific points along the pole and could not be adapted to deal with P-delta effects or other forces or moments other than vertical loads. This new method is much more accurate than the previous method and is recognized in various standards such as CSA C22.3 No. 1 Overhead Systems Standard.
